Feb. 18, 2010 Wings teams compete at USATF National Cross Country Championships
Wings of America teams competing in the 2010 USATF Cross Country Championships placed second in the men’s division 8k race and third place in the women’s division 6k race. The meet was held at Plantes Ferry Recreation Park in Spokane, Washington on February 13, 2010. Junior runners (ages 14-19) from throughout the nation competed at the event.
Wings runners were American Indian winners at regional qualifying races who then competed at a national race in Albuquerque in December 2009 for a place on the team. Team members received an all-expenses paid trip to Spokane.
The junior women’s team was coached by Felicia Guliford (Zia Pueblo). Leading runner was Rolonda Jumbo (Navajo) from Chinle, AZ. Other team members were Tamara Lementino (Zuni Pueblo), Marlinda Pecos (Jemez Peublo), Charnelle Curley (Navajo), Felicia James (Navajo) and Dianne DuBoise (Navajo). Steve Her Many Horses (Oglala Sioux) was the junior men’s coach. Leading runner was Jonathan Yazzie (Navajo) from Chinle, AZ. Other team members were Justin Lueras (Zuni), Eric Markham (Seminole Creek), Lucien Corriveau (Apache), and Troy Madalena (Jemez Pueblo/Navajo). Wings runner, Patrick Lueras (Zuni Pueblo), ran in the senior men's 12k race finishing with a 42.43 time.
The Wings teams were welcomed at Gonzaga University by legendary coach Pat Tyson, former University of Oregon runner and roommate of the late Steve Prefontaine. Wings runners were provided with pre-race motivation by former Wings board member, Billy Mills, 1964 Gold Medalist in the 10,000 meter race, who recognized and praised the runners. The Kalispell Tribe hosted a post race dinner for the Wings team.May 30, 2009: Running PRIDE 7th year and still running.

November 23, 2008 Navajo runner representing Haskell Indian Nations University finished 3rd place overall in the Gobbler Grind Marathon in Overland Park, Kansas. His name is Leo Becenti III and I see he is listed as a runner on your website. He completed the Marathon in a time of 2:54:22. I believe he represented Haskell and all Native Americans very well on that day and should recieve some kind of recognition. The marathon website is www. gobblergrindmarathon.com if you want to check. Thank You
